Why tile injection?
Tenting tiles occur when tiles become drummy, loose or delaminated and create pressure on adjacent tiles causing them to pop, tent or buckle. Tile tenting can occur due to incorrectly installed expansion joints placed on initial installation or no expansion joints. There are other various reasons floor tiles buckle, such as: improper cleaning or preparation of the tile or floor prior to laying, using the wrong adhesive or taking on moisture from floods or high moisture areas. As part of our tile injection process, it may be necessary to add expansion joints where required to allow for future movement of the tiles and substrates. Tenting tiles are not only unsightly but are hazardous, dangerous and defective. Contact us today for an inspection report and quote on your tenting tiles.
Cracked and Missing Grout
Cracked or missing grout from floor tiles is the first evident sign of probable loose, drummy or delaminating tiles. The sooner the tiles are rebonded the better the chances of saving your tiled floors. Hollow tiles can become cracked and broken when walked on or break by simply dropping a cup or house hold items on them. Hollow tiles can cause tripping hazards and dangerous sharp edges. So do not overlook cracked or missing grout. When tiles have become delaminated, loose, hollow or drummy there tends to be some movement between the tiles and adhesive. With foot traffic this can cause tiles to move slightly, loosening the grout joints. See our FAQ page for more detail on – Why is my grout cracked loose or missing?
Glue Injection Process
Tile injection is a cost effective, time saving and clean alternative to the repair of loose and hollow tiles. With the glue injection tile repair system we can offer a far less disruptive process than having to remove tiles. With the injection system we are able to re-bond delaminated tiles right in their place. This saves on excessive dust and mess through the home or business. The glue injection process is carried out by drilling small holes in the grout lines of the hollow sounding tiles, allowing for the flexible yet strong adhesive to be injected under low pressure to fill the voids beneath the tiles. By filling the voids we have created a new bond between tiles and substrate. Therefore removing the need of the old technology tile fix method, of removal and replacement. With the injection tile fix system there is less hassle, less stress and less expense.
